“Welcome” is the word you will hear most at SIS.
Your first contact with the school will be through us and we will be delighted to answer any of your questions and guide you through the application process.
You will find information, application forms, handbooks and more in our documentation centre in this section of the website. We would be delighted to welcome you to the school to have a tour and experience this special environment for yourself, or if you can’t come personally we can help you do the application and interviews via Skype.
Due to our excellent reputation for producing happy children who perform to the best of their ability, demand for places is high. Therefore please submit your application with plenty of time to ensure against disappointment. However, we try to be as flexible as possible and if you are late in applying we will do everything we can to welcome you into the SIS family, so please do get in touch.
We have a rolling admissions policy, but the optimum time to apply is between October and May in order to avoid disappointment as demand for places is high.
The application form should be completed on-line, and all documents required should be uploaded at the same time.
SIS provides support for students with moderate learning and/or emotional/social difficulties. Additional information can be found in our Learning Support section.
At SIS we do not consider lack of language a barrier to entry and have a comprehensive language acquisition programme in place to support children with different language needs.
We recommend that any child coming to the school without a good level of English takes part in our Summer School courses to get a head start.
The main language of the school is English and learning Spanish is a priority. In addition to English and Spanish, French, German and Russian are all on offer.
Primary School 8:50 – 15:45. Secondary School 8:50 – 16:00
We are proud of the diverse backgrounds of our students and have a total of 42 different nationalities represented at the school. There are approximately 30% British, 30% Spanish and then a mix of students from around the world.
We aim to keep class sizes small to aid personalised learning and use teaching assistants as well as teachers to support children. Our maximum class size is 24 students.
At SIS we have an enormous array and variety of extra-curricular activities and pride ourselves in creating opportunities for students to follow their passion. Yes, our PTA is an enthusiastic and active body of parents who not only organize school parties and functions, but act as a mouthpiece for the parent body as a whole and ensure that concerns are heard and acted upon. They are vital to keeping the school moving forwards and meeting parents’ needs. Please find more information here
We transport students from Marbella and various stops along the way. In the other direction we go from Tarifa & Algeciras, and from Gibraltar and La Linea. Please find more information here
We are proud to say that the vast majority of our students are accepted into their first choice university and students travel around the world to further their education.
Our average IB points for 2014 were 35, significantly higher than the International average. Due to these great results and the IB’s International reputation we had students accepted into many fantastic universities in 2013 including –

Lunch is included in the school fees and provided in the school canteen
At SIS we have a very stable staff body, many of whom stay for more than 6 six years
There is a comfortable and practical school uniform which can be purchased via the school shop. More details here
Students applying for Secondary school are required to sit placement tests in Mathematics and English language, and have an interview. Students applying for Primary school do not sit tests, but usually meet the Head of Primary. Reports from previous schools are required.
